General Information
Action Summary During its 2021 special session I, the General Assembly enacted Chapters 17 and 478 of the Acts of Assembly which amended the Virginia Fair Housing Law § 36-96.1 et seq of the Code of Virginia effective July 1, 2021. The Real Estate Board and the Fair Housing Board are amending its regulations to conform to the statutory changes made as a result of these amendments. The regulations being amended (18 VAC 135-50 et seq) contain language changing a protected class and clarifying reasonable accommodation as a result of the statutory changes.

Executive Branch Review This Action is exempt from Article 2 of the Administrative Process Act. The normal executive branch review process is not required. As such, it can be submitted directly for publication and is effective upon publication.
