| Action Summary |
The purpose of this proposed action is to amend the current regulations (12VAC5-481) ensuring their compatibility with Title 10, Energy, of the Code of Federal Regulations. Agreement States are required to ensure their regulations are compatible with Title 10 regulations. This revision will ensure that Virginia’s regulations implement revisions that were performed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) from 2011 until 2013. These revisions are required to be implemented by the Agreement States within 3 years of implementation by the NRC. One of these regulatory revisions is the creation of 10 CFR Part 37, “Physical Protection of Category 1 and Category 2 Quantities of Radioactive Material”. This new regulation must be in place by March 19, 2016. |
