Regulations Governing the Practice of Veterinary Medicine [18 VAC 150 ‑ 20]
Action is Exempt from Article 2 of the Administrative Process Act
Action:
Reduction in establishment reinstatement fee
Action 4394

General Information
Action Summary Pursuant to ยง 2.2- 4006 A 6 of the Code of Virginia, the Board of Veterinary Medicine adopted an amendment to reduce the reinstatement fee for veterinary establishments from $350 to $75. When fees were increased in 2013, the amendments were intended to set the reinstatement fee to be inclusive of the renewal fee, the late fee, and a fee for processing an application. Section 185 was supposed to be amended to eliminate the renewal and late fee for reinstatement of an establishment license but that section was overlooked, so the current regulation requires a renewal fee ($200), a late fee ($75), and a reinstatement fee ($350) for a total of $625 rather than the inclusive fee of $350 as intended. To implement the intent of the Board as soon as possible, the reinstatement fee for establishments is being reduced to $75, which will result in a total fee of $350.
