Medicaid and FAMIS Prior Authorization
General Information
Action Summary |
This action proposes to modify regulations related to outpatient psychiatric services based on the findings of the study to make the process more efficient, give providers would have more timely information, and provide better service to Medicaid recipients.
In addition, this regulatory change will clarify DMAS’s intent to preauthorize all outpatient, non-emergent Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), including Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) scans, Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT) scans, including Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA), or Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans. It also changes one of the words which form the acronym CAT from Computer to Computerized. |
