Upon review of the proposed change, I am in agreement.
I am also in agreement with the proposed change. I think this is a positive step.
Excelsior College supports the proposed regulation that will provide for licensure of Excelsior College School of Nursing graduates by endorsement. The proposed regulation will allow an uninterrupted mechanism for licensure by endorsement for graduates of accredited, nontraditional schools of nursing.
As a LPN of four years I support the change. I work at Walter Reed Medical Center and I've worked in PACU, Same Day Surgery, Neuro Science, Medical Surgical wards as a float LPN. I also work with Millitary trained LPN's who work beside RN's in the ICU and various other units. Many Army LPN and Navy Corman depend on Excelsior to obtain their RN degree. I support this change and I feel it is a positive step. Thank You
I support the proposed regulation.
On behalf of the Virginia Nurses Association, the professional organization for Registered Nurses, I am writing in support of the revised regulations governing licensure by endorsement for registered nurses with unencumbered licenses who have not met the clinical hour requirement specified in 18 VAC90-20-120. Requiring 960 clinical hours of practice prior to endorsement should be sufficient to determine the safe practice of these graduates, since 960 hours is almost equal to a year of full-time employment. VNA would also support a comparative prospective analysis of any disciplinary actions taken against these nurses compared with a cohort of nurses whose educational programs provided the required 500 clinical hours.
