As a medical professional with decades of experience, including out patient, clinic and Emergent care, I want to say that singling out abortion type regulations is a very transparent reach around to limit access and has nothing to do with patient safety. All medical settings complying with existing law and appropriately evaulated with inspections as regulations already in place already exist. Fact is examples such as the Gosnell clinic is a failure of not having inspections done as they should be. This example of poor care can be unforunately found in every medical disciplie as exampled by reported of dentists using dirty instruments or allergists reusing needles, etc. If you really believe the TRAP regiulations improve patient safety (considering Abortion is safer than outpatient endoscopy, colonoscopy, liposuction and oral surgery) then institute these regulations everywhere for all providers. Otherwise TRAP regulations are exactly what they are Targeted regulations to restrict access - Eileen Davis, RNe over this text and enter your comments here.
