The suspension of operations at a Fairfax clinic after inspections found 26 health and safety violations is proof that regulations are working and must be preserved. They must not be watered down! Violations continue to be found in clinics even during announced inspections.
Abortion clinics do not offer the full range of counseling, exploring options, and discussion of possible complications and long-term effects of the procedures they perform. Their business is performing abortions, and as such, their interest in women's health is skewed, and requires oversight.
Abortion centers must adhere to the regulatory standards of other healthcare facilities. Simply, Virginia women deserve nothing less.
