General Notice: Public Comment Period for Draft Exempt Automatic Fire Sprinkler Inspector Regulations

On March 21, 2019, Governor Northam signed into law SB 1774, which created an individual license for Automatic Fire Sprinkler Inspectors. The enactment clause of the legislation provides that the initial adoption of the regulations be exempt from the provisions of the Administrative Process Act (Va. Code § 2.2-4000 et seq.), except that the Board for Contractors will provide an opportunity for public comment on the regulations prior to final adoption.
The draft exempt regulations are available for review and public comment until November 8, 2019 from the Board’s website at http://dpor.virginia.gov/Boards/Tradesmen/Public_Comment_Notice/.
All comments must be submitted on or before November 8, 2019.
