At a time when the health of women is the supposed goal of abortion on demand, it is inconceivable that the governor wants to soften the requirements for abortion clinics. I remember learning in high school in the 1950s about how the maternal death rate was almost eradicted in the early 1900s when doctors realized that cleanliness in the birthing area, washing of hands and sterilizing of instruments made all the difference in the world. Safety and cleanliness should be the norm, women's lives are at stake.
