Action | 2015 Voter Registration Application Regulation and Form Update |

I am a citizen and voter in Virginia, and I applaud the Department of Election and the State Board of Elections for their revisions to Virginia's Voter Registration form.
Far too often, qualified voters are disenfranchised because of technical issues with the voter registration form. The proposed changes are an important step to addressing this problem. Voter disenfranchisement is a FAR bigger problem than voter fraud, which rarely actually happens. Ensuring all eligible citizens can vote, and vote without having to jump through a million unreasonalbe hoops, is the patriotic thing to do. The only people against this are people who know their candidates won't win in a fair election, if the majority of the population is allowed a say.
I strongly support the proposed changes and hope members of the State Board of Elections will ratify them following the public comment period. Please do not bow to pressure from those that would strip Virginia voters of their rights for political expediency.
