I am in favor of allowing gourmet wine and beer shops to sell beer in growlers. I see no valid reason to discriminate against them, while allowing restaurants and grocery stores to fill and sell growlers. Allowing the sales of beer in growlers would bring extra business to small wine and beer shops, promote reasonable competition among beer retailers, and allow customers better access to quality craft beer. I cannot imagine any good reason to deny shops that are already licensed by the ABC the ability to sell beer in a controlled manner through filling growlers.
