Action:
Repeal of Regulations Governing Minimum Standards for the Accreditation of Child Day Programs
Action 5038
General Information
Action Summary |
The Board of Education had the authority to regulate child day programs in public school and adopted 8VAC20-590 and 600. To conform to Senate Bill 467 (2016) and Chapter 442 of the 2016 Acts of Assembly, these regulations must be repealed. SB467 removed the Board of Education's authority to regulate all child day programs and placed the authority under the Board of Social Services. The Board of Education no longer has this authority and needs to initiate a fast track regulatory action to eliminate this from its regulations. |
