Water Supply Planning
Purpose of legislation
Requires the State Water Control Board, in consultation with the State Health Commissioner, local governments, public service authorities, and other interested parties, to establish a comprehensive water supply planning process for the development of local, regional and state water supply plans. The planning process should (i) ensure that adequate and safe drinking water is available, (ii) encourage and protect all beneficial uses, and (iii) encourage, promote and develop incentives for alternative water sources.
