Criminal Justice Training and Standards
Purpose of legislation
The purpose of this bill is to review and update the compulsory minimum training standards for new law enforcement officers. Updates and revisions are to ensure that the training standards appropriately educate law enforcement officers in the areas of mental health, community policing, and serving individuals who are disabled, and shall include consideration for the recommendations of the President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing.
