The continuing education is some what of an oxymoron.  It largely supports and encouragages Manufactures of products to promote wares as the participants receive a certificate to sit in a boring class (have actually witness sleeping) that they could have read the product pamphlet and made a decision as to use it.  

Professionals that are true will conduct themselves in a manner that promotes their business or profession without the thumb of bureaucracy informing them that they need education.
