bait fish

I would like to see a smaller quantity of bait fish captured in the Chesapeake Bay. These fish are important not only for tourism and recreational fishing but to help protect so many endangered species such as other fish, marine mammals and birds. This also helps the environment.

I think also there should not be the use of horseshoe crabs for abstraction of their blood. The eggs from these crabs feed countless migrating birds who often travel thousands of miles. There seem to be fewer and fewer of these on the beaches. Labs can now obtain these fluids from manufacturing without harming the crabs.

The economy is better off protecting these animals rather than harvesting them.
