Parents should certainly be teaching these things at home, but they don't... either because they can't be bothered, don't understand it, or refuse to acknowledge it.

Please proceed and understand that by and large, the negativity directed at this is largely equal to the folks who thought it was a bad idea to teach girls how to read.

Don't like what the school system is teaching?  Teach them yourselves.
