Some positives, but NO to SEL and CRT

I read the SEL guidelines within the grade bands. I see some positive aspects, however, overall, it is my opinion that the state (and teachers) will be mandated to usurp the role of parents in attempting to train young impressionable children in the areas of "social and emotional well-being."  Schools need to regroup and teach younger children the fundamental skills in reading, writing, math, science, and the factual history of our great nation. Individual families have individual values. The school system do not have the authority to impose it's own value-based psychology into our children's hearts and minds. That is NOT the jurisdiction of public education bureaucrats. It is the jurisdiction of families and those who love the children.

As for the older students, the guidelines present nothing less than training in anti-American thinking and reasoning based on false historical narratives. CRT is not a viable tool to build a successful society. If the goal of education bureaucrats is to create a society of young people who will build their views of life in America based on lies to bring about a destructive totalitarian state, using SEL and CRT is the way to do it. Therefore, the state's motives remain highly suspect in trying to push through the SEL agenda.

Absolutely NO to SEL and CRT.
