SEL is already happening in some form in every school. The best schools in the state already have similar practices in place. By adopting a formal SEL curriculum, teachers and schools will be given money, resources, and time to help with something that is ALREADY HAPPENING. 

Teaching students about their emotions, how to interact with one another, how to build healthy relationships etc. is something schools have ALWAYS been expected to do. Acting like we are just supposed to teach the 4 core subjects and not help your kid understand their emotions/ help them to relate to one another is ridiculous. 

SEL is incredibly beneficial to students. The negative response to this makes no sense.
