Social Emotional Learning (SEL) standards are an important tool in preparing our children for the future, and I support the DOE’s efforts to include these in student curriculums. I see no downside to teaching children to “understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.”
