I respectfully request that the proposed Social and Emotional Learning Standards be abandoned.  The job of schools is to educate children in academic subjects, and to a lesser degree, in the arts.  I am 72 years old and attended public elementary school when such was the case.  Most of my peers and I learned respect for others simply because our parents and teachers demanded it from us.  No school syllabus is needed.  The obvious agenda behind SEL as well as "CRT" ("Critical Race Theory") and the "Transgender Model Policies" is to undermine parental influence and mold our children in politically liberal, socialist ways to accept and espouse "woke" policies that further reject traditional family values that served us well before the efforts to replace them took hold.  There is no science behind "CRT" and "Transgender Theory;" they are really only ideologies that ignore the truth, but language is often used to change beliefs as is the case here. 

The increase in violence, disrespect for others and for the law have gone hand in hand with the decline of the traditional family.  Do not tread on parents' rights to pass on common sense moral values to their children and not have them countered by the public schools.
