I believe that the duty of public schools is to educate on academics...reading, writing, maths, the sciences, art, history. Please leave the social/emotional learning to parents. Educators have enough to focus on with just academics, they don't need to take on social emotional issues as well. Some of what is being proposed is outside the scope of what should be within the jurisdiction of public education. U.S. academics has long been falling behind compared to other countries and the focus being put on non-academic topics during school time is, in part, why. Focus on what really matters and what's within your jurisdiction. Leave the rest of forming a good citizen and human for this earth to the children's parents.
