Yes only if attending and presenting papers at conferences such as TRB, ITE are counted as credit

Continuing education to be kept up to date is necessary but most professional engineers do this already by attending conferences, seminars, and most recently participating in webinars throughout the year.  I do not agree that you have to attend a short course in a university or college to qualify for continuing education credit.  Thanks.
