Please say no to social-emotional learning in our schools. This type of education is damaging and can will cause further divisions.  While we desperately need a hard focus on STEM courses, it appears all Virginia DOE wants to do is water down the curriculum and focus on everything but actual learning. 

As a POC, neither my children or I need or value this type of training.  We will be successful based on our merit, not because of what white administrators and educators did for us.  This whole proposal is racist and demeaning to all POC.  My kids need trig, calculus, physics, not this "its not your fault its the system...and those white people" courses. 

Please don't make me unenroll my kids from our public school and put them into a private school.  I can't afford for my kids to have the expectation of the "lowest common denominator".  They will be successful with or without you, and it appears it will probably be the latter.
