In Support Of Proposed Poultry Waste Regulations

As a Northern Virginia native I have spent many years enjoying the recreational waterways from the Chesapeake to the Shenandoah National Park.  I belong to several angling and conservation organizations including the Tidal Potomac Fly Rodders, Trout Unlimited and the Federation of Fly Fishers.  Through these organizations, as well as my own research, I have become aware of the impact of unregulated poultry waste on our streams and rivers.  Widespread fish kills and inter-sex bass impact the recreational value of our waterways as well point to a larger environmental instability which affects an area from the Shenandoah valley as far as the Chesapeake Bay.

Based on my desire to continue fishing, boating and enjoying the waters in Virginia, I fully support the proposed regulations contained in 9VAC25-630, and I look forward to seeing them passed.

Sincerely,

Justin Marney
