It seems to me that so many polluters have found it easier to just pay a fine and continue on with their same old practices of pollution. We need to see that it is no longer feasible for these people and or companies to get away with treating our rivers as garbage dumps. If they are willing to work with groups like Riverkeepers to resolve the problem, fine. If not we need a system of regulations and fines that will make it mandatory for them to comply. Of course they can use the argument that it will cost more, but what is the cost to our local communities to lose the use and beauty of our natural treasures. It's time to take back our rivers and lakes from these people.
