To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Pamela Park and I live at 6546 N. 28th St, Arlington, Va.. My phone number is 703 246-7165. I'm writing because I use the Shenandoah River for kayaking, tubing, fishing and just plain enjoyment and I support the regulation of end users and brokers when they use poultry litter as fertilizer. After several decades of concentrated litter use in the Shenandoah Valley and Eastern Shore we have already demonstrated convincingly the type of pollution that occurs when litter use is unregulated. Please help improve the condition of our polluted rivers and also ensure our healthy streams remain pristine by requiring litter application setbacks from sensitive environmental features and streams, soil testing to guide application rates, application close to crop growing season, and better litter covering practices. Thank you for considering my perspective.
Sincerely,
Pamela Park
