I could have retired from the Military anywhere in the world, but I chose the Shenandoah Valley not only because of the beautiful scenery but also because of the beautiful rivers. Especially the Shenandoah River cascading through the scenic mountain ranges of Va. Over the years I have watched this beautiful river die a slow and agonizing death from high levels of nutrients entering the water from many sources. I used this river for recreation and fishing for many years until the fish kills began a few years ago. I still visit periodically but not to the extent before the kills. I would love to see her back to the beautiful senic and good fishery that she once was. Although poultry litter may or may not be the only cause of high nutrient levels in the river, and the fish kills, I completely agree with the Shenandoah River Keeper that the levels of phosphorous and Nitrogen are too high and that they need strictly regulated. Therefore I am writing to inform all involved that I agree with the proposed regulations of poultry litter as set forth by the Shenandoah River keeper.

Thanks
