Commenter: Steve McNulty (Supporting Shenandoah Riverkeeper)

Please Pass The Poultry Litter Regulation

1) Your Name: Stephen J. McNulty
2) Your Full Address: 1506 S 29th St., Arlington, VA 22202
3) How you are connected to rivers affected by poultry in Virginia: My
family and I vacation on the Shenandoah several weeks every year.  We fish
and raft and tube.  If it get s much worse, I really don't think I'll be
heading out there any more as the thought of my children swimming in chicken
black box is appalling.  Also, since a big draw for me is the fishing, which is
becoming worse with each passing year, I think I'll veto my family and find
somewhere else to go.  We also live near the Potomac river where our
drinking water comes from and I also fish regularly.  The poultry waste from
the valley effects this downstream watershed as well.
4) What you think about the pending regulation:  I think the loop hole that
allows chicken waste to be spread on neighboring farms is ludicrous.  Please
ban this practice that is harmful to so much of the east coast's waters all
the way to the Chesapeake Bay.
