I work 6-7days a week, most weeks. I am in the hospital at least 10 hours a day. Even when I'm off, I still have to do paperwork and call/email clients. This is partly because we do not have enough licensed techs so we are expected to do their duties, we are not even allowed to ask for experienced assistants to ask for help, so we’ll just continue to be worked to death. If this policy is changed it will actually lighten the load that the already overworked veterinarian and overworked technician have.
