Besides devaluing licensed technicians this is irresponsible. An assistant requires no previous training to be an assistant. It is in the best interest for the health of our pets to allow an educated licensed technician to place intravenous catheters. Our field is always in desperate need of LVTs and to devalue us is to further push us away from the field.
