I have been licensed Backflow Prevention Device Worker for over 15 years. I have been a pipefitter for over 45 years.  I was a water purveyor for over 10 years and my company oversaw the program in that city. I have seen many changes in the way testers perform these test ,so many of these men and women have gone the extra mile to learn all they can about testing and repair and doing the job correctly to keep our drinking water safe. So many companies have spent thousands of dollars to train their employees and provide them proper tools and equipment so they may do their job correctly. Doing this job correctly is the important thing. I strongly recommend DPOR keep the licensing process for Backflow Prevention Device Workers as it is to ensure proper testing and repair of all Backflow Preventers in the state of Virginia.
