I am in strong favor of the continuation of licensing of professional wetland delineators. The program provide assurance to both private and public project managers that the regulation to protect wetland resources is being implemented accurately. I am a certified professional wetland delineator who has been involved with delineating wetlands for 30 years, and I have seen delineations within reasonably easy areas performed terribly by inexperienced persons who cannot identify plants and have virtually no knowledge about soils. Licensing is a professional goal within our company that we want for all our wetland scientists, as it demonstrates the professionalism that the public deserves.
