Oppose Deregulation of Landscape Architecture

Given the fact that this subject has come about again, clarity about the role of landscape architecture during the design and construction process is in order.  Landscape architects take the same approach to a building's site that architects take to a building.  Drainage, grading, retaining walls, parking lots, sidewalks, curbs, stormwater management, water retention, plazas, pathways, pedestrian friendly crosswalks and amenities, and other designs require a technical acumen and knowledge beyond landscaping.  A keen understanding of construction processes and best practices is also part of the landscape architects responsibility, and because of these vital services, I strongly oppose deregulating landscape architecture.
