During my 35 year plus career I have been a member of design teams for a wide variety development project many involving building design and construction. Many of those teams included interior design firms. In a number of my projects, we have been involved in the design of rooftop space. It's through that work in particular and in design team meetings that I was made aware early in my career how interior designers protect public health, safety, and welfare. I cannot more strongly support the continued certification of interior designers. In my opinion, interior designers and the practice of interior design should be regulated at the level of licensure.
