I should be allowed to protect my kids and wife while in parks and forests and not be denied my rights to self protection as guaranteed by the constitution.

Open carry should be allowed, just as it is elsewhere in Virginia.  I request a formal hearing to allow open carry of a handgun in state forests to bring state forests in compliance with  formal opinion 08-043 published in september 2008 by the Virginia Attorney General.
