I support the continued regulation of professional Soil Scientists. They provide expertise to protect the public welfare on soil related issues and problems in the commonwealth.  The General Assembly voted unanimously in 2011 to require licensing for soil scientists because of the potential risks due to a lack of regulation.  Licensing requirements establishes professional education and experience requirements in the field of soil science to protect the health of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
