Strong support for continued regulation of Landscape Architects in Virginia

Health, safety, and welfare are the three points of licensing. As a citizen and engineer, I have seen first hand the importance of licensed landscape architects. Landscape architects  work with site grading, storm water management, and other design aspects of projects which can negatively impact the public if not designed properly. Licensing helps to ensure that landscape architects are trained and educated properly to design responsibly. Outside of licensure, anesthetics and materials are taught, but the purpose of licensing is to ensure the public with competent landscape architects who design for the health, safety, and welfare of the public. To deregulate licensing for landscape architects would be a dis-service to the public and a safety concern. Thank you for your time and consideration.
