I urge the board to adopt the proposed standard with the elimination of one paragraph, Paragraph G on page 6, which allows employers to ignore this standard if they comply with CDC guidance. CDC publications are only suggestions and this could undermine the whole purpose of this emergency standard. I suggest adding other types of workers in addition to health care workers to the “high risk” category, such as meatpacking workers. No one should be forced to choose between their live or the lives of their loved ones and their livelihoods.
