All verifiable data shows the VA has not flattened the curve of the first wave of COVID-19. We are seeing more cases rising daily. Our healthcare system is already stressed. The economic problems many are experiencing are a consequence of the virus' impact on our economy. We can work on solutions to that. Without a vaccine or better and more effective treatment, we are going to increase the stress to not only our economy, but long term health ramifications to those who are lucky enough to survive the virus. We will never be able to justify the deaths because of the financial difficulty to businesses and individuals. Worse are the selfishness of those who can't be bothered, inconvenienced or have decided this is a hoax or political stunt. This is a real and present danger that can not be ignored, dismissed or denied because we want to believe differently. The question is will VA leaders listen to? In the short term, will we look like fools who caved to petulant demands and see our cases and deaths rise? When history recounts this pandemic, how will we be recorded?
