Protect Teachers

Please continue to follow science-based recommendations for safety guidelines and continue to require face masks inside buildings. Please also give guidance to schools on the safety of reopening. School systems across the Commonwealth are currently considering opening school buildings to in-person instruction while not ensuring that safety guidelines will be followed. Students will not be required to wear a mask and are only going to be keeping 6 feet of distance when possible. If school divisions cannot ensure that safety guidelines can be consistently followed, teachers should have the option to teach from home. We cannot put workers at risk to appease the demands of those who would like to see schools open at full capacity. Students and staff would be better served by continuing distance learning until the need for such stringent safety measures decreases and normal operations are safe to resume.
