Distancing, face masks, and CDC guidelines - YES

Using masks and distancing is Not a new concept -  it is a common sense way to stop the spread of disease until a vaccine is developed.  We stayed away from crowds during the polio epidemics in the 1940s-50s. Before antibiotics, patients with strep were isolated. In every community, patients with active Tuberculosis were Forced to stay in hospitals/ sanitariums until they were free of the contagious disease.  Patients with Hansen's Disease (Leprosy) were forced to live in isolated communities - at Carville, Louisiana, for one.  Before vaccines were available, children were not allowed to attend school when they had contagious diseases like measles, chickenpox, mumps. etc.  All these measures were in effect through the 1940s, 50s, 60s -   as many of us remember.  These were not trivial illnesses -  and NEITHER IS THE COVID19 A TRIVIAL DISEASE.  The lasting effects and complications are not trivial.  Wearing a face mask, distancing, following the CDC guidelines are Common Sense for today just as they have been during earlier epidemics.  WE CAN FOLLOW THE RULES UNTIL A VACCINE IS DEVELOPED.
