In addion to my earlier comments in support of regulatory changes allowing CHP holders to carry in State Forests/Parks, I would like to request a hearing on the proposal to include Open Carry as well. In Sept. of last year, the Virginia  Attorney General published an opinion on the open carry of firearms. My request of a hearing is to consider the application of the opinion (08-043) to State Forests and Parks which would allow open carry in those areas, just like the state law permits in the rest of the state.
