Studies, including those from NIH and the Mayo Clinic support the efficacy of wearing a mask in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Combined with frequent hand hygiene, social distancing and supporting tele-work opportunities for employees, when possible, implementing a universal face covering policy will contribute to a safe and successful reopening of our economy. Failure to ensure all employees and clients are masked while conducting business could contribute to a resurgence of the virus in our community and compel our lawmakers to scale back or halt our economic reopening. A mandatory mask mandate is imperative for the long term success of our business and a matter of public health and safety.
