It is a violation of Health standards to report health information to the state, therefore I oppose this amendment about reporting the flu. Time and Time again, legislators are pretending to be doctors to decide the health needs of citizens. My health is my choice. My doctor and I decide my healthcare, not legislators who don’t know me. 

Further, if you report someone as having the flu, but actually does not, you are creating a panic in the community of a flu outbreak that may or may not exist because it exaggerates the actual number of people who have influenza. You are creating fear in the minds of average people. Don’t turn the sniffles into a pandemic. If it’s not the flu, don’t pretend that is, especially from people who are not doctors and should not be diagnosing anyone.
