Although the flu is dangerous and can spread quickly, I do not think it is right to force people to report cases of the flu to the state. Reporting cases of the flu to the state infringes on citizen's privacy. There also needs to be more information on why the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is asking to have the flu reported. If the VDH explained more on why they are doing this and how they are going about it, I may still not be supportive of the action, but I would be more accepting of it.
