Conversion therapy is know to be dangerous and often leads to psychological problems such as depression and suicidal thoughts. No one should be shamed into thinking that who they are is wrong. Mental health professionals should focus on affirming the identities of LGBTQ and helping individuals feel loved for who they are. They are subject to enough ridicule and hate. The conversion practices are not effective and need to go away.
