Telemedicine for Virginia

Virginia taxpayers and Medicaid patients will benefit from the use of telemedicine.

Taxpayers will save money by Medicaid patients using telemedicine as their choice over using an emergency room for minor illnesses.

Providing Medicaid patients with telemedicine will provide better care.  First, the remote capability of telemedicine will help those patients who are too sick to travel or those who cannot afford transportation for in-person medical care.  In addition, Medicaid patients may improve their well-being by having increased access to physicians who can provide preventative healthcare.
