Proposed Changes to the DMAS manual

As a Medicaid Coordinator I was exploring the start of billing for Nursing and Personal Care but with the new proposed changes to the DMAS Medicaid Manual now is not the time to recommend starting these programs under the proposed new guidelines.

We are a smaller school and the time and resources it would take to track all of the paperwork obtaining the Plan of Care signed by the physician definitely is discouraging. Especially if the student has multiple orders from different doctors. Most doctors in our area charge for paperwork to be filled out. How will that be resolved? This could also result in parents revoking permission for Medicaid billing. This will result in a paper work nightmare.

I oppose the proposed changes to the DMAS manual. I urge you to reconsider these proposed changes and allow the current school-basedMedicaid reimbursement program requirements to remain the same.

Winchester Public Schools strongly takes a stand with VCASE and other school systems in opposing these new changes to the DMAS Medicaid manual.
