This type of psuedo-therapy is is harmful to anyone who is subjected to it.  It is psychological abuse. No young person should ever be shamed by a mental health professional into thinking that who they are is wrong. Mental health professionals should provide care that is ethical and affirming for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender young people. Please do not permit this non-scientifc practice.  Protect all humans from emotional abuse and self-hatred.
